These handcrafted, beaded id lanyards feature magnetic clasp closures for breakaway safety.
These are high gauss field strength magnets which will not separate under the normal weight of the necklace plus
security keys, identification badge, or eyeglasses. The clasp will, however, separate if the badge holder necklace is
accidentally caught and/or tugged with heavy force. (This "break away" feature is typically required by many hospitals and medical services for their employees.)
To prevent excessive wear on the magnets I do recommend SLIDING the clasp apart when removing the necklace...or lifting the necklace over your head.
